About me

Education and Experience

I have the following qualifications:

  • PGDip in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People – University of Reading, 2018-2019
  • DClinPsy in Clinical Psychology, University of East London, 2013-2016
  • MSc Health Psychology, Middlesex University, 2012-2013
  • BSc Psychology, City University London, 2006-2009

During my career, I have worked with adults with a range of mental health difficulties and ran therapeutic groups, including an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) group.

I also worked with older adults as part of a Community Mental Health Team, and with individuals with learning disabilities, where I adapted and implemented an ACT group for this population and ran mindfulness workshops for staff.

I have worked with children and young people in a variety of settings, including as part of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), working with children and young people experiencing depression, anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, and other difficulties, as well as with their families. I worked with looked after children and their foster carers and co-facilitated an attachment therapeutic parenting group. I also have experience of working with adults and children with health conditions, including chronic pain, asthma, and difficulties related to diabetes, cranioplasty, gastroenterology, orthopaedic issues, and burns.

Additionally, I have worked with schools, providing consultation and advice on helping children who may be struggling with their emotions or behaviours. I helped parents and school staff identify ways in which they could support their children differently to improve their emotional wellbeing.

At present, in addition to private practice, I also support children and their parents as part of my role in a paediatric diabetes team.

Also about me…

In addition to my clinical practice, I am also a qualified yoga teacher, which helps keep me calm and grounded day to day. Although, at present I mainly focus on self-practice and on spending time with my family, enjoying walks and nature whenever we get the chance.
